REPEATEDLY RAISING TAXES WON'T SOLVE FINANCIAL WOES

Is poor management a bona fide reason for increasing our sales tax by 1 percent? It seems whenever our politicians encounter budgeting difficulties, the quick-fix rationale is to raise taxes.

I can't run to my boss for a pay increase every time I have an unexpected expense such as a home or car repair. At that time, a new approach comes into play centered around planning and restraint. How long can this go on? What happens next year?
