Judy Goldsmith, 56, a teacher, died Oct. 18 in Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Randolph, Vt., following a long illness.
Born in Buffalo, Ms. Goldsmith graduated from Bishop Neumann High School and earned a teaching degree at St. Mary of the Angels Convent in Williamsville. She began her teaching career at Christ the King elementary school in Amherst. She left the area in the early 1980s to teach at Brookhaven School for Boys in Chelsea, Vt.
For the past 15 years, she was an elementary school teacher in the Orange County School System in Randolph, Vt.
Survivors include two brothers, William of Collins, and Mark of Buffalo.
A memorial service was held Oct. 21 at her school. A service for family and friends is being planned for November.
