Christine Truesdale, 67, a retired home health aide, died Tuesday at home after a short illness.
She was born Christine Neal in Camden, S.C., where she attended Jackson High School before moving to Buffalo in 1954. She remained a city resident the rest of her life.
Mrs. Truesdale worked as a school bus driver for about 10 years before working as a home health aide for St. Augustine's Homecare for about six years. She retired in 2001.
A former member of St. John Baptist Church and Zion Missionary Baptist Church, she enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching Westerns.
Her husband, Hayward, died in 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Marcus of Phoenix and Michael of Buffalo; three daughters, Varonda Shuman of Fayetteville, N.C., and Kimberly Howard and Myleta, both of Buffalo; a brother, James Drakeford of Camden, S.C.; a sister, Mahalia Adamson of Buffalo; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be held at noon Monday in St. John Baptist Church, 184 Goodell St. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga.
