Betty J. Stover of Buffalo, a nurse, died Wednesday in Buffalo General Hospital after a short illness. She was 63.
Born Betty Johnson in Gadsden, Ala., she came to Buffalo in 1948, graduated from East High School and earned her degree as a licensed practical nurse through BOCES.
She worked at EGW Home Care, Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Buffalo General Hospital and Sisters Hospital for 20 years before retiring in 1992.
She enjoyed cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Samuel; four daughters, Edith Pittman, Shawn Luchey, Samantha and Tiffany , all of Buffalo; two sons, Kyle Monterro of Cheektowaga and Tyler of Frederick, Md.; two brothers, Warren Cooper and Howard Johnson, both of Buffalo; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. John Baptist Church, 184 Goodell St. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
