Orleans County sheriff's deputies charged a volunteer firefighter Thursday with stealing funds from the Clarendon Fire Company Recreation Hall.
Jeremy J. Richenberg, 24, of White Street, Holley, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, a felony punishable by up to four years in state prison if convicted.
Police are releasing few details, except to say that Deputy Donald Green led the investigation into the theft of money from the volunteer fire company over a three-month period.
Richenberg also was arraigned Thursday in Town Court and jailed by Justice James Campbell. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 8.
Clarendon fire officials couldn't be reached Thursday to comment.
