Raymond L. Kryszak of Blasdell, a retired radio and test technician, died Wednesday in Roswell Park Cancer Institute. He was 72.
A native of Blasdell, he had an associate's degree in electronics from Erie County Technical Institute.
He retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Corp. in 1994 as a radio and test technician after 24 years of service. He had worked for Bell Aircraft in the 1950s and Cornell Aeronautical Laboratory from 1960 to 1970.
Mr. Kryszak was licensed by the Federal Communications Commission for electronics and radio repair.
He was an Army corporal serving with the Signal Corps during the Korean War.
Mr. Kryszak was a life and exempt member of Big Tree Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Erie County Fire Advisory Board and the Hamburg Fire Chiefs Association.
Survivors include his wife, the former Evelyn Rosinski; a daughter, Susie Acanfora of Lake View; three sons, Randy of Orchard Park, Jeff of Hamburg and Steven of Eden; a sister, Ginger Larsen of Blasdell; a brother, Joseph of Kenmore; and nine grandchildren.
Prayers will be said at 11:15 a.m. Saturday in John J. Kaczor Funeral Home, 5453 Southwestern Blvd., Blasdell, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 3688 South Park Ave., Blasdell. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Hamburg.
