Two West Siders were charged with drug and weapons possession Wednesday night after an investigation by Buffalo detectives into area drug activity.
Juan Quinones, 17, of Massachusetts Avenue, was arrested by Detectives Timothy J. McDonald and Edward M. Cotter on charges of felony criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a weapon along with marijuana possession. Daniel Figueroa, 27, of Connecticut Street, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Cotter and McDonald were investigating complaints by neighbors of drug activity in the 200 block of Massachusetts at about 6:30 p.m., when they said they found Quinones in possession of a loaded gun stolen in April from the Town of Tonawanda along with 16 bags of marijuana.
Figueroa allegedly had a gravity knife in his pocket, police said.
The two were taken into custody pending arraignment.
