MAN ADMITS HAVING COUNTERFEIT $100 BILL

A John Street man pleaded guilty Thursday in Niagara County Court to having a counterfeit $100 bill when city police arrested him on a drug possession charge June 11.

Melvin A. Hardy, 21, is to be sentenced for third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument Dec. 22 by Judge Sara Sheldon Sperrazza. The drug charge was dropped in the plea bargain.

A co-defendant, Aaron R. Knowles, 19, of Lock Street, still faces a counterfeit-money charge.
