The Hamister Group of Companies has branched out into hotels, purchasing two properties in Smyrna, Tenn.
The Amherst-based company, headed by Mark Hamister, bought a Fairfield Inn and Suites, and a Sleep Inn and Suites through its new subsidiary, the Hamister Hospitality Group.
Hamister said his company plans to acquire or build three to five hotels a year over the next five years. The Hamister Hospitality Group will focus on limited-service hotels in the eastern half of the United States.
The Hamister Group of Companies' other business segments are health care and self-storage. It recently moved its headquarters from Buffalo to the Sheridan Meadows North office building, near Sheridan Drive and Transit Road in Amherst.
