Services for George A. Forman Jr., an investor and stock market expert, will be at noon Saturday in Amigone Funeral Home, 1132 Delaware Ave. Entombment will be in the Forman Mausoleum in Mount View Cemetery, Olean.
He died Tuesday in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a long illness. He was 92.
He was born in Buffalo. His father and grandfather were pioneering oil producers in Pennsylvania, Texas and Oklahoma.
Mr. Forman was a graduate of Yale University. For many years, he was a substantial private investor, portfolio manager and scholar, specializing in oil stock investment research, financial and inflation history and stock market fads. He also was trustee of Forman family trust funds, oil stocks and property interests.
A sailing enthusiast, he took part in many sailing events at yacht clubs on Lake Ontario.
Mr. Forman supported many charities in the United States and abroad.
His wife, Renee Allou Forman, died in 2000. Surviving are two sons, George H. of Lewiston and Robert A. of Lewiston, Idaho; two granddaughters; and a great-granddaughter.
