DR. HENRY T. JANS, LONGTIME OPTOMETRIST <br> NOV. 5, 1928 -- OCT. 27, 2004

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dr. Henry T. Jans, an optometrist, will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 10 French Road, Depew, after prayers at 9 in Pacer Funeral Home, 2275 George Urban Blvd., Depew.

Inurnment will be in St. Adalbert's Cemetery, Lancaster.

Dr. Jans, of Depew, died Wednesday in St. Joseph Hospital, Cheektowaga. He was 75.

He was born in Buffalo and lived in the area his entire life.

He graduated from Canisius High School, the University of Buffalo and Ohio State University.

Starting in 1959, he worked as an optometrist for 45 years in Buffalo, Depew and Williamsville.

Dr. Jans was an Army veteran of the Korean War.

He enjoyed golf and was a former member of Lancaster Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, the former Theresa Kotas; three daughters, Karen Orlando of Holland, Linda Perel of Lancaster and Elizabeth Vogl of Lancaster; three sons, Mark of Palm Harbor, Fla., David of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Andrew of Hong Kong; two sisters, Dorothy Genco of Buffalo and Joann Keller of Depew; and four grandchildren.
