Dorothy M. Offhaus of Marilla, an active member of the community and St. Nicodemus Lutheran Church, died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. She was 82.
Born Dorothy Marie Dorshide in Marilla, she lived there nearly all her life.
She went to a one-room schoolhouse in Porterville and later attended East Aurora High School.
A housewife, she was a longtime member of the Porterville Home Bureau.
Mrs. Offhaus also was co-founder of Southeast Works, a work program for disabled people.
Her husband of 59 years, Kenneth, died in 2000.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Hess and Patricia; a son, John; and a sister, Irene Offhaus, all of Marilla; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Nicodemus Lutheran Church, Four Rod and Liberia roads, Marilla. Burial will be in Maple Rest Cemetery, Marilla.
