The 10th annual Mark Twain Birthday Party and Symposium will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 in the Buffalo & Erie County Historical Society, 25 Nottingham Court. The Arts Council for Wyoming County will host a Portfolio Day for Wyoming County high school students with artists Christine and Tom Daly from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 6. The Alleyway Theatre will hold open auditions for child actors for its upcoming production of "A Christmas Carol" at 10 a.m. Nov. 6. The theater is seeking a boy between 5 and 7 years old for the role of Tiny Tim and a boy between 11 and 14 years old and no taller than 5 feet, 1 inch. Also, an adult baritone is sought for the role of Tradesman and Christmas Present. Adult actors should call to arrange a private audition.
