A man and a woman, both from Woodlawn Avenue in Buffalo, were arraigned in Niagara County Court on Wednesday on charges of cashing three forged checks at a Niagara Falls store Dec. 22.
Harrell J. Bonner, 51, pleaded not guilty to three counts each of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and petit larceny. Denying one count of both charges was Joyce E. Thomas, 27.
Checks for $200, $250.83 and $265.89 allegedly were cashed at Issa Food Market, 20th Street and Centre Avenue. Assistant District Attorney Charles F. Pitarresi said all three checks gave the appearance of being refunds from Niagara Mohawk.
