FIREFIGHTERS ARE HEATING UP FOR FUND-RAISER

Randy Mantooth, star of the '70s television show "Emergency," will meet fans and sign autographs at Firefest 2004, a fund-raiser organized by Buffalo Professional Firefighters Association, from 5 to 11 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Sphere, 681 Main St. Proceeds benefit the Variety Club and its support of Women and Children's Hospital and the Dr. Robert Warner Rehabilitation Center. Mantooth now stars in the daytime drama "As the World Turns."

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and include a buffet dinner, prizes and music by Junction West, Hit Men Horns and Mark Stanley Band. The annual event again will include a "Hot Firefighter Auction," in which singles can bid on prize packages that include dinner dates with some of the single men and women who are members of "Buffalo's Bravest."
