Buffalo Sabres center Tim Connolly was one of 10 players named to the U.S. men's national select team that will compete in next month's Deutschland Cup in Germany.

Connolly had missed all of last season recovering from the effects of a concussion he suffered in a preseason game in October. He was cleared to resume playing last June and re-signed by the Sabres.

Connolly is currently playing for Langnau SC in Switzerland, where he has two goals and an assists in four games.

The Deutschland Cup is a five-team tournament that will be held Nov. 10-14.

South Buffalo native Peter Ratchuk, a former Rochester Americans defenseman, was also named to the U.S. team.
