FALL VISIT: Villa Maria College will host a fall visit for prospective students from 5 to 7:30 p.m. today at its campus, 240 Pine Ridge Road, Cheektowaga. Tours will be available, and faculty and staff will answer questions on academics and financial aid. Call 896-0700, Ext. 1805.

HALLOWEEN: A Halloween Spectacular will take place at the Hamburg Farmers' Market in the village parking lot from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Children are invited to trick-or-treat from farmer to farmer; a Halloween story time will take place at 12:30 p.m. A Halloween Parade will line up at 1:45 in the parking lot. The first Light Up Hamburg will take place at 7 in Memorial Park. Families are invited to bring their carved pumpkins and candles.

MALLOWEEN EVENT: Presented by Eastern Hills Mall: costume contest, deluxe gift and trick-or-treat bag for every child younger than 12, adult costume contest and Kids Escaping Drugs booth, from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Frightworld, Western New York's largest haunted house, will be open for a $15 fee. Trick-or-treating throughout the mall.

OPEN HOUSE: Community Surgery open house; noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, WCA Hospital, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. Tours will begin in the main lobby. Call 664-8614.

MEETING: Deerhurst Neighborhood Watch Group; 7 p.m. Monday, Kenmore West High School, and Brighton Neighborhood Watch Group, 7 p.m. Thursday, Brighton Community Church, 1225 Brighton Road, Town of Tonawanda.
