RONALD G. ROBERTS, MASTER CARPENTER <br> DIED OCT. 18, 2004

Ronald G. Roberts, a master carpenter, died unexpectedly Oct. 18 while working on a construction project at Elk River Resort in Banner Elk, N.C. He was 54.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Roberts was a graduate of Kenmore East Senior High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Buffalo State College. He moved to North Carolina in 1985.

An employee of Colbert Construction Co. in Elk River, N.C., he was a master builder and carpenter. He was also a jazz trumpeter and pilot.

Survivors include two sons, David and Jon, both of Ashville, N.C.; a sister, Dianna North, of Boulder, Colo.; and a brother, Ray of Zionville, N.C.

A celebration of Mr. Roberts' life was held Monday in Broyhill Park & Gazebo, Blowing Rock, N.C.
