THE STUFF OF NIGHTMARES

Grading the BILLS
RUNNING GAME
(D): Ran 8 times for 14 yards in miserable first half. Willis rebounded with 50 yards in second. Willis earned every yard he got.
PASSING GAME
(F): The CIA should use tapes of the Bills' pass offense in order to torture information out of suspected terrorists.
RUN DEFENSE
(B-plus): Held Ravens to 3.0 yards a carry. Forced field goals 2 of 3 times near the goal line. Spikes led strong charge by all.
PASS DEFENSE
(A): How much more could they do? Boller threw only 4 passes in second half. Schobel whipped Ogden on first play.
SPECIAL TEAMS
(C): Needed a big play given strength of Raven defense but didn't get one. Net punting numbers turned out good.
COACHING
(D): Creativity is a good thing, but it backfired on first INT. Defense never let Boller get settled. But offense is a mess.

Grading the Ravens
RUNNING GAME
(C-minus): Chester Taylor is no Jamal Lewis but he did OK. Averaged 4.2 a carry. Taylor managed just 10 for 32 in second half.
PASSING GAME
(D): All Ravens needed to do was not turn the ball over. After the first series they succeeded in that department.
RUN DEFENSE
(A): Dominated line of scrimmage early and set tone for game. Great in the red zone. These guys are as fast and tough as advertised.
PASS DEFENSE
(A-plus): Took advantage of Drew's forced passes. Got four sacks and made Bledsoe feel uneasy all day. Too much for Bills O-line.
SPECIAL TEAMS
(B): Ravens' kickoff and punt coverage was superb. Stover is fourth most accurate PK ever but 50 yards was too long for him.
COACHING
(C): Would have lost to any average opponent. On the other hand, kept Boller in a straight-jacket so he wouldn't lose game.
