JAMESTOWN MAN FACES GUN-POSSESSION CHARGE

A Jamestown man arrested early Saturday outside a Winsor Street tavern has been charged with criminal possession of a loaded handgun, Jamestown police said.

Third Platoon officers were investigating a report of marijuana smoking in the tavern's parking lot on the 200 block of Winsor at about 2:30 a.m. when they discovered Jamon M. Ryan, 26, had a .38-caliber handgun, Officer Jeffery R. Russell said.

Ryan, of East Virginia Boulevard, was being held in City Jail, pending arraignment.
