WITHOUT YANKEES, BASEBALL A BORE

We either love them, or we hate them. There's no in-between when it comes to the New York Yankees.

It's hard to shrug off such a collapse even though I've felt all season that their pitching was very suspect. Congratulations to the Red Sox and their many loyal fans. (They may even win a World Series in my lifetime).

Here's a final thought: Where would baseball be as a pro sport in this country without the New York Yankees as the perennial "King of the Hill?" Think about it. There is no team, in any league, which drives its sport as the Yankees drive baseball.

You gotta love it!
