Three people, including two teenagers, have been charged with second-degree murder in the beating death of a record producer during a burglary, police said.
The body of Sandro Burgos, 30, was discovered by an acquaintance Monday in his Plattekill apartment, about 75 miles south of Albany. Burgos had been beaten and stabbed.
Arrested were Burgos' upstairs neighbor, Jose Vasquez, 20, along with Audley Edwards, 17, and Dominick Galgano, 18.
State police said Burgos was home alone when at least two of the suspects broke into his apartment, touching off a confrontation that ended with Burgos dead.
Police said the suspects fled with an unspecified amount of cash and Burgos' Ford Expedition. The vehicle was later found abandoned a few miles away.
A break in the case came midweek when the owner of a restaurant below Galgano's apartment found Burgos' wallet belonging and a bloody jacket in a trash bin outside the business.
