MASQUERADE BALL HAS 'ROARING '20S' THEME

"Roaring '20s" is the theme of the sixth annual Masquerade Ball to be held Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight in the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary. Proceeds from the event sponsored by the Friends of the Center for the Arts will benefit center activities, including the Dance Residency, School Time Transportation Fund and Explore the Arts Summer Program.

The "backstage" area of the center will be transformed into a speak-easy setting, with guests arriving in 1920s attire or in creative black tie. Hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction will precede a dinner catered by Daffodil's restaurant, dancing and live auctions. Entertainment will be by the UB Zodiaque Dancers and Buffalo's own Lance Diamond.

Marilyn Ciancio and Carol Greiner are chairwomen of the ball. UB President John B. Simpson and Katherine Gower are honorary chairmen. Tickets are $65. For information, call Amy Gambino at 645-6774 or visit www.ubcfa.org.
