AROUND TOWN <br> PUBLIC MEETINGS IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES THIS WEEK

The Village Board will meet Thursday, 7:30 p.m., in Village Hall, 13336 Broadway.

The Amherst Town Board holds an afternoon work session at 3:30 p.m. Monday in the board conference room at Town Hall, 5583 Main St.

The Williamsville Village Board holds its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Village Hall, 5565 Main St., Williamsville. Agenda items include the status of paving Main Street in the village. The session is preceded by a 6 p.m. work session in which a variety of issues, including a proposed dog park and development at Union Road and Main Street, will be discussed.
The Williamsville Village Senior Citizen Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Village Hall, 5565 Main St., Williamsville.
Amherst's Diversity Coalition Committee meets at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Amherst Senior Center, 370 John James Audubon Parkway.
Muir Woods, one of the biggest developments ever proposed for Amherst, is the subject of a public hearing during a special Amherst Planning Board meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Council chambers of Town Hall, 5583 Main St., Williamsville.

The Planning Board also will hold a work session from 6:30 to 7 p.m. in the Town Board conference room.

Proposed by Ciminelli Development Co., the controversial project covers about 326 acres off French Road in northwest Amherst and would be a "mixed use" development including single family and patio homes, apartments and apartment buildings with office space as well, and an office park and retail outlets.

Neighbors are worried about traffic, the loss of green space, drainage problems and other issues.
The Williamsville Village Environmental Advisory Committee meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in Village Hall, 5565 Main St., Williamsville.
The Aurora Town Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Town Hall, 5 S. Grove St., East Aurora.

The East Aurora School Board meets at 7 p.m. Thursday in the library of the Main Street School, 430 Main St.
The Planning Board will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall, 8500 Boston State Road.

The city will hold its annual foreclosure auction Monday and Tuesday, when an estimated 1,000 properties are expected to be put on the selling block.

Hundreds of property owners who were delinquent in paying city tax bills have been making last-minute payments in recent days. As of late Friday, about 1,300 properties were still on the foreclosure list; payments will be accepted until right before properties are auctioned.

The bidding will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the convention center. The auction will continue at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The Clarence Town Board holds a work session at 6 p.m. Wednesday, when it will hear presentations regarding proposed budgets from the Clarence Center, East Amherst and Harris Hill volunteer fire companies. The Rapids and Swormville companies will give their presentations at 6:15 p.m. The meeting is in the board conference room, Town Hall at One Town Place.
The Elma Town Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall, 1600 Bowen Road.

The Evans Town Board will meet in a work session Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Town Hall, 8787 Erie Road, Angola.
The Town Board will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Monday in Town Hall.

The League of Women Voters will sponsor a candidates forum at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Union-Pleasant Elementary School, 150 Pleasant Ave.
The Global Concepts Charter School board of trustees will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the school, 1001 Ridge Road.
The Town Board will meet in a work session Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the Municipal Center, 4295 South Buffalo St.

A public information session on a proposed waterfront trail extending from Niagara County to Chautauqua County will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Tonawanda City Hall courtroom. The event will offer information on a memorandum of understanding that will combine several existing trails and pathways into a single, 67-mile-long pedestrian and bike trail.
