Rose Anna Pellerico of Hamburg, a librarian and media specialist at Orchard Park Middle School for 33 years, died Saturday in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a long illness. She was 62.
Ms. Pellerico started at the school in 1965 and retired in 1998. She was the faculty adviser for the World Affairs Club. In 1984, she became a member of the Orchard Park District Computer Task Force.
Born in Utica, she graduated in 1964 from Geneseo State College, where she was a student radio announcer and member of Kappa Delta Pi honor society. In 1974, she received her library media specialist certificate from the University at Buffalo.
Ms. Pellerico was a member of the School Library Association of Western New York and enjoyed cooking for all its functions.
She also was a member of Phi Delta Kappa in South Buffalo, the Zonta Club of Hamburg and Orchard Park, the supervisory committee of the Orchard Park Central Schools Federal Credit Union and the Buffalo District Council of Credit Unions and its scholarship committee.
An avid reader, she enjoyed quilling, macrame, tole painting, crewel work and swimming.
Survivors include three sisters, Josephine Wilson of Copperose Cove, Texas, and Mary Kielbasinski and Theresa Stabb O'Connor, both of Canastota.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today in Hamburg Unitarian Universalist Church, Union and Center streets, Village of Hamburg.
