PATRICIA A. SEBIAN, SUBSTITUTE TEACHER <br> AUG. 8, 1927 -- OCT. 21, 2004

Patricia A. Sebian of Amherst, a substitute teacher active in the University at Buffalo Women's Club, died Thursday in Oakwood Nursing Home. She was 77.

Born in New Lexington, Ohio, the former Patricia Tracy was a graduate of Ohio State University and moved to the Buffalo area in 1953. She worked as a substitute teacher for special-education classes.

She was a 48-year member of the UB Women's Club and held several offices. She also was a longtime member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.

A mother of five, Mrs. Sebian was an accomplished seamstress and baker and enjoyed gardening

Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Richard A.; three daughters, Marie Tripp of Canandaigua, Ellen Casali of Houghton and Myra L. Conley of East Amherst; two sons, Edward "Ned" of Akron and Bruce A. of Clarence; a foster son, Oscar Leon of Uruguay; two sisters, Rosemary Frisbee and Martha Hosler, both of Mansfield, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Gregory the Great Church, 200 St. Gregory Court, Amherst. Burial will be at a later date.
