MEDINA OFFICIALS STILL MUM ON SUSPENSION OF OFFICER

Medina officials are still tight-lipped about why an officer of four years was suspended Monday, except to say that an internal investigation is under way.

Joseph Santoro, who is a patrol officer and DARE officer, was suspended with pay after a civilian complaint was filed. No details have been released.

Mayor Howard Lake said he couldn't discuss reasons for the complaint or the investigation except to say that it's being headed by Police Chief Jose Avila.

Avila also wouldn't comment, saying he didn't want to jeopardize the integrity of the investigation.
