BENEFIT AIMS TO ESTABLISH TRUST FUND FOR GIRL, 12

"Benefit for Brittany," scheduled Sunday evening at Brierwood Country Club in the Town of Hamburg, will honor the life of Gary Forti, who died in a July 29 motorcycle accident, and establish a trust fund for his daughter, Brittany Dougherty Forti.

In 17 months, Brittany, a 12-year-old Lakeshore Middle School student, lost both of her parents to fatal traffic accidents. She currently lives with paternal grandparents.

Proceeds from Sunday's event, from 6 to 11 p.m., go to the trust fund.

Forti, 34, of Derby, was killed when a sport utility vehicle pulled in front of his motorcycle at Route 5 and Shoreham Road in Hamburg.

Brittany's mother, Barbara Draudt, 29, of Angola, and her 4-year-old stepbrother, Nicholas, died in a car crash in February 2003.

Tickets to the benefit are $20 at the door. Featured are drinks, dinner, live music, a drawing for a 56-inch television and a silent auction.

Contributions to the trust fund can be made at local M&T Bank branches.
