Three 17-year-old Evans teens were charged with burglary and criminal mischief Friday afternoon following a two-week investigation by the Evans police and Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department into a burglary at a Hanover country club.
Joshua R. O'Connor and Kyle S. Jablonski, both of Derby, and Matthew Kreuzer of Angola are accused of burglarizing the Tri-County Country Club at about 9 p.m. Oct. 8.
The three set off a silent alarm and were discovered by Deputy Richard Snyder, police said.
They ran off the golf course into a wooded area. An extensive search by a K-9 squad and Erie County's Air-1 helicopter was unsuccessful. The three were eventually tracked down, however, by authorities in Erie and Chautauqua counties.
They were jailed in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 property bond pending a return date in Hanover Town Court.
