While nomadic running back Ricky Williams is taking classes at an unidentified Northern California university, his attorney laid the groundwork for his possible return to the Dolphins and NFL.

Williams' attorney, David Cornwell, met with two representatives from the NFL and a union representative from the NFLPA to dispute the results of what was considered Williams' second failed drug test taken in December.

"What we challenged was the collection and the actual testing of the specimen," Cornwell said after a 90-minute meeting at Loews hotel.

Cornwell is planning to make a formal proposal to the NFL for Williams to resume his career as soon as possible.
