PLEA DEAL ACCEPTED IN MAN'S FATAL STABBING

An apologetic Sherman Street man pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree manslaughter in a fatal stabbing.

Dock A. Mack accepted a plea offer in his pending second-degree murder case before State Supreme Court Justice Mario J. Rossetti. He told the judge that he "overreacted" in stabbing Sheldon C. Chestnut, 42, of East Delavan Avenue, as they argued over a long-standing dispute May 20.

Rossetti remanded Mack, 24, to jail and said he will sentence him to a 15-year prison term when he is returned to court Jan. 7.
