The Slee Sinfonietta, the University at Buffalo's professional chamber orchestra, has another memorable musical evening planned. Tuesday, the orchestra and its witty conductor, Magnus Martensson, take the stage for a varied program. The night will include Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Michaels-Gruess" and Edgar Varese's "Hyper-prism." Because the Slee Sinfonietta prides itself on spanning the centuries, the group will offset these contemporary pieces with a selection of works for brass by Giovanni Gabrieli.
The concert takes place at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Lippes Hall (formerely Slee Hall) on UB's North Campus. Admission is $12, with discounts for students, seniors and WNED members. For more information, call 645-2921.
