Having just returned from Kosovo on a medical training mission, the following thought came to mind.
Kosovo is a country under U.N. protection, 90 percent Muslim, 60 percent unemployed, but a country that loves the United States. Their national hero is Bill Clinton, who initiated the U.N. intervention in the 1999 genocide that was being inflicted on the ethnic Albanian Muslims there. They owe us a debt of gratitude.
Why not help them help us? Their 300,000 or so unemployed young men could be given uniforms and some training, and sent to Iraq to help our troops as U.N. peacekeepers. Our troops still stationed in Kosovo could implement the program. Muslims helping other Muslims, and helping to bring our troops home sooner. A win-win-win situation.
