FIRE IN DEEP FRYER CAUSES DAMAGE PUT AT $50,000

A fire in the deep fryer at a South Buffalo McDonald's restaurant Wednesday morning caused an estimated $50,000 damage, fire officials said.

The fire broke out at about 10:10 a.m. at the McDonald's at 1028 McKinley Parkway. Flames erupted in the deep fryer and extended up into the restaurant's vent.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation late Wednesday.
