Elsie M. De Tample, of Cheektowaga, a retired animal-care assistant, died Tuesday in Erie County Medical Center after a long illness. She was 86.
Born Elsie Flach in Buffalo, she graduated from West Seneca High School.
She worked as an animal-care assistant at Afton Animal Hospital in Amherst for a decade, retiring in 1984. She was a food pantry volunteer and member of St. Luke's Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Her husband of 49 years, Arthur E., died in 1990.
Survivors include three sons, Gary A. of Buffalo, Milton E. of Amherst and David G. of Cheektowaga; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were today in St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Cheektowaga.
