Deans, assistant deans and a select group of other employees at Jamestown Community College will receive a 2.5 percent salary increase for 2004-05.

The college's board of trustees Tuesday based its decision on a recommendation from the Human Resources Committee.

In other business, Marilyn
Zagora, dean of student development and marketing, briefed the board on preliminary enrollment numbers for the fall semester. The college expects enrollment to be nearly equal to last fall's total of 1,413 full-time equivalent students.

Enrollment figures for some JCC courses offered in high schools, as well as late-starting courses, have yet to be added.

Also, Timothy Piazza, director of program development for Manufacturing Technology Institute, updated the board on the institute's offerings, including the "Manufacturing Mayhem" reality television program seen weeknights at 9 on Time Warner Cable Channel 8.

Robert Barber, dean of administration and continuing education, reported that steel has arrived for construction on the new Student Union addition to the Hamilton Collegiate Center. The board later toured the portion of the building being renovated.
