Anthony Polino, a retired insurance agent, died Saturday in Beechwood Nursing Home, Getzville, after a year's illness. He was 82.
Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended Canisius College. He served as a pilot in the Navy during World War II.
A longtime resident of the Town of Tonawanda, he was a sales associate with Allstate Insurance Co. in Buffalo for 30 years, retiring to Sun City Center, Fla., in the late 1980s. He returned to the area in 2001.
A member of St. Edmund's Catholic Church, he was active in Catholic Charities. He also was a golfer.
His wife of 50 years, June Lufkin Polino, died in 1995.
Surviving are three sons, David of East Amherst, Michael of Eggertsville and Gregory of Atlanta; a daughter, Deborah Sceusa of Amherst; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A memorial Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Edmund's Church, 530 Ellicott Creek Road, Town of Tonawanda. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Pendleton.
