A West Ferry Street bank branch was robbed Monday afternoon, Buffalo police said.
Police said a man in his 20s entered the HSBC branch at 306 W. Ferry at about 2:30 p.m. and handed a note to the teller stating: "I have a gun and slide me some 20s and 50s and don't move or talk or I will start shooting."
The teller complied and the suspect fled on foot down West Ferry Street.
The FBI also is investigating an attempted robbery at 11 a.m. Monday at the HSBC branch on Clinton Street. Police said the male suspect fled in a car eastbound on Clinton Street. West Seneca police said they later pulled over a car on Route 219 matching the description of the one from that incident.
They said the driver was turned over to the FBI for questioning and Buffalo police impounded the car as evidence.
