Cattaraugus County Bank, headquartered in Little Valley, appointed Peter Illig to its board of directors. Illig is part owner and operator of three local independent pharmacies in Salamanca, Ellicottville and Springville.

Elrae Industries, a diversified producer of stamped and roll formed components, custom assemblies and retail ready products located in Alden, appointed Marc Dewey Bayer marketing coordinator. A graduate from Fordham University with a dual masters from the University at Buffalo, Bayer has extensive experience in Web, video and print technologies, and has worked with print and design firms in Buffalo and New York City.

Houghton College honored Dr. Myron Glick, founding physician and CEO of Jericho Road Family Practice in Buffalo, with the Distinguished Service Award at the college's 2004 Founders' Day Convocation in recognition of his commitment to service, humility and willingness to help those in need. JRFP is partnered with Journey's End Refugee Resettlement Service and area churches to provide health care to approximately 250 refugees per year from more than 50 countries. A Houghton College graduate, Glick received his medical degree from the University at Buffalo School of Medicine.

Construction Economists of America, located in Lewiston, was awarded construction monitoring and payments certifications for the new Diamond Hawk Golf Course in Cheektowaga. The firm also is monitoring the Liberty Park Apartment Building in Cheektowaga and the 185-bed Student Housing Facility for D'Youville College in Buffalo, while finishing the Sidway Building, Southwind Landing, Canterbury Gardens and the Bellasario apartment projects. Also, the firm contracted for monitoring and payment certification on Mercy Park Senior Living facility in Pittsford, the Northfield Senior Living facility, and is completing the property and building condition assignment on the Cloverwood Senior Living Facility.

Buffalo District Credit Unions donated $23,380.32 to Carly's Club, the Pediatric Cancer Center at Roswell Park Cancer Insitute. The money was contributed through the Credit Unions Care for Kids program, the annual community involvement program of the New York State Credit Union League.

Western New York Dental Group dentists Dr. Robert Gianadda and Dr. Peter Starkey are volunteers in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry's Give Back a Smile program. The program provides free consultation and dental treatment to domestic violence survivors who have sustained dental injuries from abuse.
