A young man remained in critical condition today after he was shot late Tuesday in the 400 block of Best Street, Buffalo police Major Crimes Unit detectives said.

Gary Redd, 18, was shot twice in the chest and once in the arm just before 7:30 p.m. He is being treated in Erie County Medical Center.

Witnesses told police they heard five shots, apparently fired at Best and Pershing Avenue.
