Lucretia F. Burns, 88, a former cab company owner, died Saturday in Comprehensive Dialysis Center, Amherst, after a long illness.
Born Lucretia Harrison in Greensville, S.C., she moved to Buffalo when she was a young girl.
Mrs. Burns was a homemaker for many years before becoming co-owner of Broadway Cab Co. in the 1980s.
She was an active member of Bethel AME Church and of the Kings Daughters Club.
Her husband, Joseph M., died in 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Marion Hudson and Rochelle Burns; a stepdaughter Melvina Cray; four sons, William, Charles G., Joseph and Isaac; a sister, Jessie Mae Dale; and a nephew, Michael Harrison, all of Buffalo; 19 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Services at noon Thursday will follow a wake at 11 a.m. in Bethel AME Church at 1525 Michigan Ave. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
