Services for Howard J. Hill Jr., a retired Fisher-Price employee, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Matthias Episcopal Church, Main and Maple streets, East Aurora.
Mr. Hill, 78, died Sunday in Mercy Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Dansville, Mr. Hill served in the Navy as a radio operator on the USS Foss during World War II.
He graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology and moved to the Buffalo area in 1959 when he started working at Fisher-Price. He was a plastics engineer at Fisher-Price until retiring in 1987.
Mr. Hill was an active member of St. Matthias Church for many years. He enjoyed traveling and sailing, and was handy around the house. He reluctantly played bridge, which his wife of 53 years, the former Elaine Turcotte, enjoyed.
She died in February.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Henry of Henrietta, and Shirley Tulowiecki of Orchard Park; two sons, Howard III of Richmond, Ky., and Tom of Charleston, S.C.; a brother, Hubert of Rochester; and eight grandchildren.
