Geraldine E. Nagel, of the City of Tonawanda, a retired office worker, died Sunday in Niagara Lutheran Home after a long illness. She was 72.
Born in the City of Tonawanda, she was a 1950 graduate of Tonawanda High School and attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute.
Miss Nagel was a secretary for Lancaster Steamship Co., which handled all the foreign shipping coming into Buffalo, until the company closed in the early 1960s. She later worked in the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority public relations office, retiring in 1988.
Active in Immanuel Lutheran Church in the City of Tonawanda, she was secretary-treasurer of the Sunday school, secretary of the Church Council and sang in the church choir.
She bowled at Delaware Lanes and on lanes formerly in Immanuel Lutheran Church. She also was an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan.
Surviving are several cousins and friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in John O. Roth Funeral Home, 25 William St., City of Tonawanda. Burial in Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda, will be private.
