FRIENDS OF NIGHT PEOPLE BENEFIT: Hosted by the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and Calvary Episcopal Church to benefit Friends of Night People, 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Calvary Episcopal Church, 20 Milton St., Williamsville. TRY SOME WINE: Hosted by Teaching and Restoring Youth, wine tasting event to benefit the program, 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Canisius High School's Grand Foyer, 1180 Delaware Ave. TRY is a not-for-profit organization that houses and rehabilitates young women between the ages of 16 and 25 who have suffered abuse, violence and victimization. GRELICK TO SPEAK: Susan Grelick, supervisor of the Town of Amherst, will speak on "Town Business Isn't Being a Business" to the League of Women Voters of Buffalo/Niagara, Amherst Unit, at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Scotch 'N Sirloin, North Bailey Avenue at Maple Road, Amherst. POETRY READING: Poet Beth Ann Royer will give a poetry reading at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the Student Entertainment Lounge of Building G, Niagara County Community College, Sanborn. She also will be speaking to writing classes and will hold a reading at 7 p.m. Thursday in Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls.

COFFEE HOUSE: To benefit families in need, 7 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, 174 Cazenovia St. Music will be provided by Sufficient Grace, Peace Choir and Faith Journey. Cost is $3. Call 826-5212.
