Carl H. Trebb, 69, retired vice president of finance for Owen K. Trojan Co. in Batavia, died Thursday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Buffalo and graduated from Sloan High School and the University of Buffalo.
Mr. Trebb served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 before coming back to Buffalo to start his accounting career.
A certified public accountant, he began with Haskin and Sells before joining Hillenbrand Industries in Batesville, Ind., where he was comptroller.
Mr. Trebb retired in 2000 from the Trojan Co.
He was a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants as well as a volunteer with the Special Olympics.
An avid reader, Mr. Trebb also enjoyed all Buffalo sports teams and golf.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marcia Gradwohl of Lockport; three daughters, Cynthia of Lockport, Elizabeth Brokaw of Rochester and Karen Boone of Cheektowaga; two sons, Jeffrey of Atlanta and David of Whispering Pines, N.C.; a sister, Leona Dunbar of Detroit; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, 5 Saxton St., following prayers at 9:30 in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St.
