Theodore J. Puff Jr., a retired baker, died Thursday in his home after a long illness. He was 78.
Mr. Puff was born and educated in Niagara Falls. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, seeing action in Europe. He earned the Bronze Battle Star Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
He worked at several area bakeries over many years.
Mr. Puff also enjoyed painting, hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He belonged to New Life Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, the former Mary Ann Connolly; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Retton of Ransomville; a son, Steven A. of North Tonawanda; and two grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday in New Life Baptist Church, 514 79th St. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston.
