Right wing Maxim Afinogenov agreed Friday to a one-year qualifying offer with the Buffalo Sabres.
Afinogenov will make $1.43 million next year, a 10 percent raise from last season. He has until today to formally accept the offer.
"It's a done deal," Afinogenov's co-agent Todd Diamond said.
Afinogenov was hoping to negotiate a longer-term deal, but the uncertain labor climate prevented it from happening, Diamond said.
Afinogenov, a native of Russia, had 17 goals and 14 assists in 71 games last season and accumulated 57 penalty minutes.
