GRANT WILL HELP FUND ENERGY EFFICIENCY STUDY

Niagara County has obtained a state grant to pay half the cost of an analysis of the creaking heating and ventilation systems in the county's two largest court buildings.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority has awarded the county $17,500 toward a $35,000 energy efficiency study of the County Courthouse in Lockport and the Angelo A. DelSignore Civic Building, headquarters of State Supreme Court and Family Court in Niagara Falls.

Judges and employees in both buildings have complained for years that the buildings swing wildly from too hot to too cold, sometimes within minutes and regardless of the weather outside.
