A young man was arrested late Wednesday for allegedly dragging a teenage girl into an abandoned building and attempting to sexually assault her, police said.
The 13-year-old girl was walking with three friends on 22nd Street shortly after 10 p.m. when three men pulled her into a nearby abandoned building where they tried to make her perform a sexual act, according to a report by Officer Stephen Baum.
The girl's companions ran to find the girl's uncle. When he arrived, the assailants fled, police said.
Dasmen Cary, 18, of 23rd Street, was arrested about midnight by Detectives Celestine Booze and William Smith and charged with first-degree attempted criminal sexual act, a felony.
