If I could put myself in the president's shoes, no, I would not take so many vacation. And no, I would not sit listening to children reading during a national crisis. Of course, seven minutes is irrelevant in the great scheme of things, but if I could imagine myself in such a heinous moment, sitting and doing nothing doesn't seem natural. I'd want to be involved.
As for terrorists infiltrating our borders, doesn't more security just seem logical? Our southern border is a joke and the northern one isn't much better. Frisking people at airports is fine but what's the point if hostiles can simply walk into our country carrying whatever and meld into the scenery?
